BEHIND THE NOVEL

The development of The Dawnwolf took place back in 2008-2009 and originally started out as a potential trilogy. The first book began as the tale of an 11-year-old boy named Mori who lived on a homestead with his two parents and little sister, and the plot was simply about his perilous endeavors of defending Albira the Dawnwolf from the clutches of a cruel poacher named Adolphus and his band of crafty henchmen. It supposedly ended with Adolphus giving in to defeat and leaving the country, allowing Albira to roam the land freely once more.
After much thought, the other two ideas I had later come up with ended up being combined into this final project.
However, my decision to put all of these pieces together to create a completely new plotline, along with all-new subplots and twists, was not necessarily made before October, but three days before November, the writing challenge in which I was to write 50,000 words in one month. It was then that the plot was quickly outlined, the characters were speedily built up, and ideas were popping to and fro in a furious flurry of development. Those three days only partially assembled the rather disorganized project, while the rest of the more in-depth development continued on as it was being written until it was finally wrapped up and completed after its revision in 2012.
